Note to Self...

When your heart is tired... Recently, you've had a lot of sleepless nights overthinking. You are always hoping, waiting, and wishing that there was someone out there to provide a sign or a light. Very few people understand the way your heart beats. Very few people want to know the stories behind your scars. I know it can sometimes make you feel alone. Be kind to yourself. Don't be afraid to be sad. At times, you may be tender. Humans aren't expected always to be filled with bright happiness. Perhaps things will become heavier within you before they get better. But I know for a fact that all of what you are feeling will pass, and you will wake up knowing your heart is strong and that you can weather any storm. Sometimes, the world seems a little overwhelming to those with hearts like yours. I know you feel disappointed from time to time. Not everyone has always been kind to you. It's not your fault what they did to you. You aren't a reflection of those who can't love you, respect you, or show up for you. Those people don't belong to you. You have to find the things in life that bring you even a moment of peace - your favourite song, the midnight sky, your art. A cup of coffee in the morning, your mother's voice, a playlist that makes your bones move. You get to choose how to heal, and you get to choose what heals you. Hold onto whatever makes you feel alive. Hold on to whatever brings you hope.

You deserve someone who will look at you and know that you are good enough. Someone who will not let you struggle on whether or not you’re worth it, because you are. You deserve someone to whom you do
